1. Who we are
Dashly ("Dashly", "the app", "we", "us") is an iOS application for creating customized widgets with an automotive focus. The provider of the app is KK Ventures, UAB, contactable at support@getdashly.app. Registered address: Lithuania.
This policy applies to the Dashly iOS app and to this website. It does not apply to Apple's own services, or to third-party services you separately choose to use.
2. Our approach in short
- Dashly is designed to work with as little personal data as possible.
- An account is not required for core use of the app unless a specific feature in the current version states otherwise.
- Widget designs and configurations you create are stored on your device, together with any photos or videos you import for them.
- Some features necessarily contact external services — most notably AI Create, GIF search, automotive imagery and music or sports metadata.
- We do not sell your personal data for unrelated advertising purposes.
3. What data we collect and how
3.1 Content you create and choose (on your device)
When you build a widget you may enter text, choose colors and layouts, set dates for countdowns or couple widgets, enter plate text, and select photos or videos. This content and the resulting widget configurations are stored locally on your device so your widgets can be rendered. We do not receive a copy of locally stored content except where a feature explicitly requires transmission (see AI Create below).
3.2 Photos, videos and media
Media is only accessed for features you actively request. Dashly uses Apple's system picker where possible, which means the app receives only the specific items you select — not your whole photo library. We do not scan, index or browse your library in the background.
3.3 AI Create uploads
AI Create generates personalized automotive artwork from images you deliberately select — for example a photo of you or a photo of your car. To do this, the selected image and your requested parameters are transmitted to our AI image generation provider, which produces the output and returns it to the app. This means those images do not remain entirely on your device, and we will not claim otherwise.
Retention of AI inputs and outputs is governed by the provider's own processing terms and by our project configuration with them; we do not use your uploads to train our own models, and we ask providers to limit retention to what is needed to deliver and secure the service. The generated result is delivered to your device. Please only upload images you have the right to use, and avoid uploading images of other people without their permission.
3.4 Purchases and subscriptions
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account. Dashly never receives your full payment card information. To determine whether your subscription is active we process purchase and entitlement data (such as product identifiers, purchase and expiry dates, storefront country and a pseudonymous app user identifier) via our subscription management provider.
3.5 Technical and diagnostic data
If analytics or crash reporting is enabled in the shipping build, we may process aggregated technical data such as app version, device model, OS version, crash traces and coarse feature usage counts, in order to fix bugs and improve the app. Providers actually used are listed in section 5 — if no analytics provider is listed there, none is present in the build. Apple may also provide us with aggregated App Store and crash statistics under its own terms.
3.6 Support correspondence
If you email us or use a form on this website, we receive the message content and the details you include (such as your name, email address, app version and device model) so we can answer you. This website does not run its own submission backend: the forms open a pre-filled message in your own email app, and nothing is stored by the website itself.
4. How we use data
- to render and store the widgets you design;
- to deliver features you request, including AI Create and content search;
- to verify and restore subscription entitlements;
- to provide customer support and respond to your requests;
- to diagnose crashes, fix defects and improve stability and usability;
- to protect against abuse, fraud and misuse of paid features;
- to comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract (delivering the app and your purchases), our legitimate interests (security, improvement, support), your consent (for example when you grant photo access or submit an image to AI Create), and legal obligation where relevant.
5. Third-party services
The following services are used by the current version of Dashly. Services not listed here are not used; this list is maintained in the site configuration so it can be updated whenever the app changes.
- Apple / App Store / StoreKit — In-app purchases, subscription processing and receipt validation. Apple handles payment; we never see your full card details.
- RevenueCat — Subscription entitlement and purchase state management, including Restore Purchases. Receives a pseudonymous app user identifier and purchase metadata.
- GIPHY — GIF search and delivery for animated widgets. Search terms are sent to GIPHY to return results.
- OpenAI image generation — Powers AI Create. Images you deliberately select are transmitted to the provider to generate the artwork you requested.
These providers process data under their own privacy policies. Where content is requested from a provider (for example a GIF search term, a vehicle selection, a club name, or a track lookup), the request necessarily reveals that query and standard technical connection information such as an IP address to that provider.
6. Permissions the app may request
- Photos / media — to let you select photos and videos for widgets, and to save generated artwork if you choose to. Selection happens through Apple's picker.
- Notifications — only if the current version offers notification features; you can decline and continue to use the app.
- Location — only if a feature in the current version requires it (for example location-dependent data in a widget). If Dashly does not offer such a feature, it does not ask for location.
- Network access — needed for content search, AI Create and subscription verification.
Every permission can be reviewed or revoked at any time in iOS Settings. Declining a permission only disables the features that depend on it.
7. No sale of personal data
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for unrelated cross-context behavioural advertising.
8. Retention and deletion
- Locally stored widget content remains on your device until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- Subscription and entitlement records are retained while your subscription is relevant and for as long as needed for accounting, warranty and legal purposes.
- Support correspondence is retained only as long as needed to handle it.
- Diagnostic data, where collected, is retained in aggregated or short-lived form.
To request deletion, access or correction, see our privacy request page or email support@getdashly.app.
9. Your controls and rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You always control which media you select, whether you use AI Create, and whether you keep a subscription. Requests can be made through the privacy request page. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the limited data we handle: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for network requests, reliance on iOS platform protections for on-device content, restricted access to any service dashboards, and use of established providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's privacy
Dashly is not directed at children under 13 (or the higher minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete what we hold.
12. International transfers
Some providers listed in section 5 operate outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent recognised mechanism.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The revision date is shown at the top of the page, and material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this website. Continuing to use Dashly after an update means the updated policy applies.
