What is Dashly?

Dashly is an iPhone app for creating custom widgets with an automotive focus — vehicle styles, manufacturer logos, plates, photos, videos and GIFs, countdowns, couple widgets, moon phase, text designs, football club logos and music-inspired designs.

Does Dashly work with CarPlay?

Dashly creates widgets for iPhone and for supported CarPlay widget surfaces. Which widgets appear, where, and how often they refresh is decided by iOS and by Apple's CarPlay implementation. Dashly does not replace, modify or control Apple CarPlay itself, and it cannot add functions your vehicle or Apple does not already support.

How do I add a widget?

Create and save your design in Dashly first. Then touch and hold your iPhone home screen, tap the add (+) button, find Dashly in the widget list, choose a widget size and add it. Touch and hold the placed widget and choose Edit Widget to select which of your saved Dashly designs it shows.

Why isn't my widget updating?

iOS controls how often widgets are allowed to refresh, so changes can take a few minutes to appear. Check that Low Power Mode is off, that Dashly has Background App Refresh enabled in iOS Settings, and that your device has a working network connection for widgets that fetch data. Re-opening Dashly, re-saving the design, or removing and re-adding the widget usually forces a refresh.

How do I restore my purchase?

Open Dashly, go to the settings or subscription screen and tap Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase. An active subscription will be re-linked to the app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not inside our servers. On your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, select Dashly and choose Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Can I use my own photos?

Yes. Many widget types let you pick photos or videos from your device using Apple's system picker, which shares only the items you select with Dashly.

How does AI Create use my uploaded images?

AI Create works only on images you deliberately choose. Those images are transmitted to our AI image generation provider so the requested artwork can be produced, and the result is returned to your device. Please only upload photos you have the right to use.

How do I request deletion of my data?

Email us at the address below or use the privacy request page. Widget designs and imported media that live only on your device can also be removed by deleting the content in the app or deleting the app itself.

Troubleshooting

Widget troubleshooting

  • Confirm the design is saved in Dashly before adding the widget.
  • Touch and hold the widget, choose Edit Widget, and make sure the correct design is selected.
  • Turn on Background App Refresh for Dashly in iOS Settings and turn off Low Power Mode.
  • Widgets showing live data need a network connection; refresh timing is set by iOS.
  • Restart your iPhone, or remove and re-add the widget, as a last step.
  • Animated content only plays where the platform allows it; some surfaces display a still frame instead.

Media & photo permission troubleshooting

  • If the photo picker does not open, check iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → Dashly.
  • Dashly uses Apple's system picker, so only the items you select are shared with the app.
  • Very large videos, unusual formats or iCloud items that have not finished downloading may fail to import — try a smaller or fully downloaded file.

Restore Purchases

  • Make sure you are signed in with the Apple ID used for the purchase.
  • Open Dashly → settings / subscription screen → Restore Purchases.
  • If the subscription still does not appear, email us with the Apple ID region and approximate purchase date (never send us your password).

Subscriptions & cancellation

  • iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Dashly → Cancel Subscription.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple. Requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Full billing terms are on the subscription section of the homepage.
